Ragi green gram laddu is a nutritious and tasty laddu, which is prepared using ragi powder, green gram powder, til, ghee and jaggery. Ragi is rich in fiber, calcium and essential amino acids which are beneficial to health. Green gram is high in protein content, fibre and low in calories. Thus the combination of both- ragi and green gram in this laddu gives a nutritious laddu.
Ingredients :
Ragi powder 2 cups
Green gram 1 cup
Til ¾ cup
Jaggery grated ½ cup
Water 2 tsp
Ghee 4 tsp + 2 tsp
Method:
- In a pan slightly roast green gram till it changes it color to light brown. Allow it to cool. Grind it into a coarse powder.
- In the same pan roast til still it splutters. Keep it aside.
- Now in the same pan heat 4 tsp of ghee and fry ragi powder on low flame for 3 – 4 minutes. You get a nice aroma. Keep it aside.
- In a bowl add the grated jaggery, water and ghee and allow it to boil.
- Now add ragi powder, coarse green gram powder and til and mix well. Put off the flame and bring down the bowl. When the mixture is still warm roll the mixture into small laddus.
Nutritious Ragi Green Gram laddu is ready.
