Lassi is a popular traditional yogurt based summer drink from India originated from Punjab. Lassi keeps you cool in summer. It promotes digestion. Lassi reduces acidity in the stomach.
Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, spices and sometimes fruit.
Today I am posting Mango Lassi which is prepared to beat the summer heat. It is very refreshing and cooling beverage. Mangoes also knwon as king of all fruits – help in preventing cancer, lower cholestrol, improves eye health, alkalizes the whole body, improves digestion, helps fight heat stroke.
Let’s prepare the delicious, healthy and cool Mango Lassi:


Fresh mangoes (chopped)                               2 cups
Chilled curd/yoghurt                                        2 cups
Milk                                                                     1/2 cup
Cardamom powder                                           1/2 tsp
Sugar or Honey                                                 4 tbsp
For garnishing:
Few mint leaves or mango cubes or sliced dry fruits
Procedure for preparing Summer cool Mango Lassi:
1. Peel the mangoes (Alphonso) and chop them into pieces.
2. In a blender, add the mango pieces with sugar or honey and chilled curd/yoghurt and blend for some seconds till everything is mixed well.
3. Add milk and once again blend everthing well.
4. Pour the mango lassi into glasses and serve garnished with cardamom powder and mint leaves.
⦁ You can adjust the sugar or honey according to the sweetness of the mangoes.
⦁ You can also use 1/2 tsp of rose water or a pinch of saffron strands.
⦁ You can also add ice cubes in the Mango Lassi.
