Chinese Fried Chicken is an Indo- Chinese chicken recipe in which the chicken is marinated with soy sauce and other spices and then deep fried. It is then cooked in a spicy and tangy gravy.
Let’s go thru the process of preparing Chinese Fried Chicken:
Ingredients:
Chicken 1 kg
Black pepper powder 1 tsp
Soy sauce 2 tsp
Vinegar 1 tsp
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Red food color 2 pinch
Egg 1
Corn flour 3 tsp
Maida 4 tsp
Oil for deep frying
For gravy:
Onion 3
Red chili powder 1 tsp
Black pepper powder ½ tsp
Soy sauce 2 tsp
Tomato sauce 2 tsp
Chili sauce 2 tsp
Vinegar 1 tsp
Water ½ cup
Salt to taste
Garlic (chopped) 1 tsp
Ginger (chopped) 1 tsp
Ceraly 1 tsp
Oil 3 tsp
Procedure for preparing Chinese Fried Chicken:
- Wash and clean chicken pieces. In a bowl add corn flour, maida, egg, red chili powder, black pepper powder, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and red food color and mix well.
- Add chicken pieces into the above batter and keep it in refrigetor for ½ hour.
- Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil is hot add the marinated chicken pieces and fry on both the sides. Drain it on kitchen tissue paper.
- In another pan heat 3 tsp of oil. Add chopped ginger and garlic and fry for 1 – 2 minutes. Add ceraly and chopped onions and fry till the onion turn light brown in color.
- Add black pepper powder, soy sauce, vinegar, chili sauce, Tomato sauce, red chili powder and salt and saute for 1 – 2 minutes.
- Now add the fired chicken with ½ cup of water and mix well. Cook for 10 – 15 minutes by closing the lid and stirring occasionally. Reduce the flame to low to medium and cook till the chicken is tender.
Yummy!!! Chinese Fried Chicken is ready. Serve it with naan, plain rice or any Indian Bread.
