Easter, which celebrates Jesus Christ`s resurrection from the dead, is Christianity’s most important festival.
Christians believe according to scripture, that Jesus came back to life or was raised from the dead on the cross. As part of the Easter season the death of Jesus Christ by Crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday always the Friday just before Easter.
Easter marks the end of lent of 40 days of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline in preparation for Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Easter Sunday abstaining from non-vegetarian food and alcohol. After Easter Sunday morning mass Christians celebrate the Easter with lots of non-vegetarian food and wine.
